The onsite Gleddoch Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort was originally the home of Shipping Baron Sir William Lithgow and has evolved into the 70 bedroom, 4-star property that we are truly proud of today.

The course opened in 1974 as a 9 hole layout and was quickly extended to 18 with the addition of what our members now call “the top half”.

European tour star Brian Barnes played in the official opening in 1975.

The golf course at Gleddoch has continuously evolved over the past 25 years with various players being proud to post course records.
The most recent course changed happened in 2016 with a course record being set by Graham Barr firing a gross 69 (-3 under Par) this record was recent beaten by Martyn Paton on 20th September 2020 with a fantastic score of 68 (-4 under Par).

The Carlsberg Open on the Ladies European Tour was staged at Gleddoch in 1980. Local player Wilma Aitken became one of the very few amateurs to win on the LET when she swept to victory.

Our most famous visitor would have to be the great Severiano Ballesteros. Seve hosted a corporate day here in 1985 and dazzled members and guests alike with his incredible array of shotmaking skills.
